One Minute Devotion
In Herman Melville's Moby Dick, there's a turbulent scene in which a whaleboat pursues the great white whale. The sailors are laboring fiercely. The cosmic conflict between good and evil is joined. Chaotic sea and demonic sea monster versus a morally outraged man, Captain Ahab. In this boat, though, there is one man who does nothing. He's the harpooner. Quiet, poised, waiting. And then this sentence: "To ensure the greatest efficiency of the dart, the harpooners of this world must start to their feet out of idleness and not out of toil."

"...put your hope in the Lord both now and forevermore" (Psalm 131:3).

Lord Jesus, help us to live and minister out of a quiet confidence in Your sufficiency rather than out of a desperate franticness. In Your holy name we pray Amen.

Financial Understanding

To confirm a speaking date for Rob Schenck to minister at your church, please take a moment to  download, review and sign the following Statement of Financial Understanding. Send a signed copy to Peggy via fax at 202-546-6864 or by email to peggy@faithandaction.org. We cannot give final confirmation of Rob’s speaking engagement at your event until our office  receives the signed statement. Thank you.

STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Rev. Rob Schenck has for over twenty-five years maintained a policy that places no cost on his ministry to churches. There is no required fee or minimum honorarium for pulpit ministry. We ask only that a free-will offering be received after the message is delivered. For conferences, rallies or other situations where an offering cannot be received, we suggest an honorarium of $3500 morning and or evening services, or $1000 per service for extended meetings.

A note on travel expenses: The high cost of travel has made it necessary to depend upon our hosts to cover these expenses. Coach-rated airfare, all ground transportation, hotel rooms (non-smoking, king-size) and meals must be covered in total. For local events, Faith and Action will charge $0.45 per mile driven when going to an event. Faith and Action will make all accommodations prior to each scheduled event, making sure costs are as low as possible to our hosts. Following the visit, Faith and Action will submit all expenses and receipts via email or fax for reimbursement.

To ease in bookkeeping, please make out separate checks for honoraria/offerings and travel reimbursements. All checks should be made payable to Faith and Action (not to Rev. Rob Schenck).

Please mail checks to: Faith and Action

Attn: Peggy, 109 Second St, Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002-7303

Honorarium checks should also be made out to Faith and Action and given to Rev. Schenck on the day of the event. Free-will offering checks should be sent to the address above within 5 business days of the engagement.

Thank you for your careful consideration and cooperation in these important matters. We look forward to an enjoyable and fruitful ministry with you.
