“There Is No Greater Power Than the Word of God . . . “

There is no greater power than the Word of God . . . “
Imagine standing in front of the U.S. Capitol in the dead of night – the sounds of the busyness of the work day long passed and the silence of our nation’s seat of government surrounds you. With the exception of the security crews, Capitol Police, and late night owls walking in the distance, you feel seemingly alone, standing at a podium with a single reading light hovering over the pages of your worn Bible. It is then that your podium becomes a pulpit, and with those lingering around and God’s creation bearing witness, you pierce the silence and the solitude with the speaking of God’s Word.

That was the experience of one of our dear volunteers during the 2017 U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon. In the stillness of the dark wee hours of the morning, Willis McCloud took his place at the podium to read Scripture. McCloud told us, “The experience of reading the Word at 2:00 a.m. under the stars, while standing on the steps of the nation’s Capitol was humbling. I felt like I was speaking to God on behalf of America.”

Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

God’s Word, in its entirety, was proclaimed 24 hours a day for 5 days in our nation’s capital during this year’s Bible Reading Marathon, and we know, according to God’s Word, that His purposes will be fulfilled through it!
Thank you for your faithful support of the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon and the ministry of Faith & Action.
If you can help us with a gift of $75, $150, $250, $500 or $1,000 that will go a long way in ensuring that we continue to sponsor this wonderful program of bringing God’s Word to our nation’s capital! Simply donate by CLICKING HERE.
Thank you for helping us spread the Word of God at the U.S. Capitol!
