Church on the North Coast in Lorain, Ohio, has been blessed with the spiritual leadership of Pastor Louis Kayatin for nearly 30 years.
Kayatin, who became a member of the church after he gave his life to the Lord there, was the fourth pastor to assume leadership of what was then a 140-member fellowship. Since he took over, Church on the North Coast has grown to over 2,000 people. |

The church offers a mix of programs for children, youth and adults. They also enrich their community with a outreaches to urban youth and a food distribution center. The church runs a 24-hour intercessory prayer line. The staff of six ministers and eight pastoral interns offer counseling.
Church on the North Coast strives to fulfill the commandment of Jesus to go into all the world and preach the gospel, teaching the nations of the love of Christ through the Word of God. They send out missionaries to establish mission outreaches both locally and globally.
They also support many pre-existing ministry endeavors worldwide such as BUSES International, the Dominican Republic Mission, and Harrison International Ministries. Church on the North Coast’s members have also traveld to Uganda, Africa to help start new churches there. To achieve this goal, the church is sends teams of pastors to conduct comprehensive training forums in Uganda. They hold 2 conferences a year which each draw around 1,500 attendees. Church on the North Coast also sponsors a thriving orphanage in Haiti, which is home to some 30 children and run by a staff of 14 full-time workers.
Church on the North Coast also places a strong emphasis on governmental missions. It purposefully allocates assistance to organizations that reach out to those who exercise civil power throughout the nation. For example, it supports the Conneaut, Ohio branch of The Christian Law Association, a public interest group that provides free legal assistance to churches and individual Christians who face judicial challenges to free expression of their faith.
The church also actively supports Faith and Action. "I met Rob Schenck right before he went on his Faith Walk," explains Pastor Kayatin. "I was very moved by his mission and by his authenticity, so much so that we began to support him with monthly donations."
Rev. Rob Schenck and Pastor Kayatin are both deeply committed to their respective fronts in the same war. "Rob has fought a lot of battles and come out a winner," reflects Kayatin. "I admire the way he embraces the various denominations. He has broadened my perspective of the Kingdom and given me an appreciation of those who may not share my specific beliefs."
Church on the North Coast raised thousands of dollars to build the beautiful prayer garden behind "The Honorable William J. Ostrowski House," headquarters of Faith and Action. Their gracious efforts have served the Body of Christ and been a testimony to the power of the love of God.
"As a local church, Rob brought us together to see our shared convictions," Pastor Kayatin, stresses. "Paul and Rob are definitely gifts to the Kingdom. They are doing exactly what God has called them to do. I can’t do that, but I can help them do it."
