In 1982 then President Ronald W. Reagan stood up to Communism with a steely determination which eventually helped bring down the Berlin Wall. That same year Pastor. J. Bruce Sofia and a small group of believers launched the fellowship which eventually became Gloucester County Community Church, (GCCC). Located in Washington Township some 20 minutes from Philadelphia, PA, GCCC is an interdenominational, Bible based, missionary minded church dedicated to meeting the needs of people of all ages and all walks of life. From worship to entertainment, from the spiritual to the physical, as the Lord provides and directs, Reverend Sofia and a team which now includes ten pastors serve the congregation of over 3,000 people with over 50 ministries.

In 1996 GCCC began worshipping in its new ministry center on 18 acres of “promised land.” The sanctuary seats 1,000 people and includes an Activity Center, Kitchen, Chapel, Offices, and Classrooms for over 200 children.
Pastor Sofia, nicknamed “PB,” explains that, “We are interdenominational in attitude, evangelistic in heart and biblical in belief and go all-out to open our hearts to everyone with the warmth of the charismatics, the conviction of the holiness movement, and the stability of the fundamentalists."
Several years ago, Pastor Sofia’s attended the annual banquet of a local crisis pregnancy center, Choices of the Heart, where he was deeply moved by the message of its keynote speaker, Dr. Paul Schenck. He soon invited Schenck to speak in the pulpit of GCCC. The following year Rev. Rob Schenck came to speak at GCCC and has been back each year since.
Pastor Sofia believes God has appointed his friends and colleagues, Paul and Rob, to be a voice for Biblical truth on Capitol Hill. “Paul and Rob have been raised up for such a time as this,” he says. “They have that innate, God-given gift to survive and influence Capitol Hill with no compromise. They can stand up for righteousness in a way that they can be heard and I wonder what the Supreme Court would be without them.”
He compares Rev. Rob Schenck to Daniel, admiring what he describes as both his political savvy and integrity in standing up for truth while adapting to the political changes on the Hill. “When we saw that we had to support it,” Pastor Sofia reflected, “We can’t lose that biblical voice on Capitol Hill.”
Rev. Schenck’s appreciation for his colleague is mutual. "Bruce Sofia is not only the consummate pastor, he is also a strategic thinker and highly skilled leader and communicator,” he stresses. “God knows who to pick to do His work and, if I may say in all humility…, Bruce Sofia is one of God's best!”
GCCC’s ongoing financial and spiritual support continues to inspire and encourage the Faith and Action team. “We're deeply grateful to the Lord for Pastor Sofia's partnership with us and the support of Gloucester County Community Church,” says Reverend Schenck. “They have been a great blessing and huge encouragement to us."
