Rob Schenck

Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK) is president and lead missionary of
faith and Action in the Nation’s Capital. He grew up in Grand Island,
New York and has been married to his high school girlfriend, Cheryl,
since 1977. They raised two children who are now independent adults.
Rob lives in Washington, DC. He serves on the boards of numerous
organizations including the Evangelical Church Alliance International
and the National Clergy Council. Rob holds degrees in Bible and
Theology, Christian Ministry and Divinity. He is an author, conference
speaker and a frequent guest preacher at churches. He appears
regularly on national television and radio interview programs and has
been the subject of many newspaper and magazine articles. Rob has
traveled widely throughout the United States and the world including
most recently to Sudan and Darfur. In 1983 he founded Operation Serve
International, a Christian humanitarian relief group that provides
medical, dental and other healthcare services to some of the poorest
children on earth. In 1988, he and his identical twin brother, Paul,
co-founded Hearts for the Homeless, a mobile advocacy program for
indigent children, women and men on the streets of their home city of
Buffalo, New York. Of all the things Rob does, he says loving God is
most important, followed by loving his life’s partner, Cheryl, and his
family. After that comes taking care of Norma, his homeless friend
outside Union Station in Washington. Only then is there all that other
stuff. He’s still working on getting all this in the right order.
