“‘First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people’” — 1 Timothy 2:1
The above scripture talks about the importance of prayer. Notice how it starts – FIRST OF ALL . . . Prayer should be the FIRST thing that we do, not the last resort!
Prayer is the foundation of all that we do at Faith & Action. And it is the first thing that we do so that we are able to fulfill our mission in Washington, D.C. The name of our ministry gives people a glimpse into what we do on Capitol Hill –our faith moves us to take action, but not in a political sense. Our “action” is to bring the truth of the Gospel [and all of God’s Word] to the forefront of everything that takes place in Capitol Hill and among our nation’s leaders.
We have a long list of “action’s” that we undertake in and through our ministry center in Washington, D.C. But in order for us to accomplish these “actions,” we realize that we need to do the FIRST thing – PRAY.
We have made prayer THE integral part of our ministry that everything else is built upon, and we ask you to join us in this never-ending need to PRAY for our nation; for our leaders, and for our government.
Prayer is needed now for ALL of our elected officials and the decisions that they are required to make on a daily basis. In fact, because Faith & Action is known for its reliability towards prayer, we have been asked to be a strategic part of the Congressional Emergency Prayer Team!
This summer, our staff will go on a Prayer Retreat where we will not only lift up the many needs and concerns that face our nation and its leaders, but we will also lift up YOUR prayer needs as well!
We invite you to submit your prayers on our prayer wall HERE. It is an honor to intercede on your behalf for each and every one of your prayers!
Let’s continue to pray FIRST and without ceasing for the needs of our nation!
On Behalf of the Faith & Action Ministry Team,
