I love seeing what God can do – especially when it’s beyond what we can imagine!
This year’s U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon surpassed anything that our ministry team could have imagined – and only the Lord could bring about the record-breaking fruit of an event that we have been faithful to support for 29 years.
I sensed as I walked to the Capitol for the kick off of the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon, that this year’s event was going to be particularly special. However, I never imagined that when I turned the corner to the Capitol steps that I would see the largest crowd for the opening ceremony that we have ever had in 29 years!
Another milestone in this year’s U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon was the diversity of both our volunteers and our audience. The Bible was read in more languages this year than in any year since the program started 29 years ago. It was beautiful to hear the Word of God read out loud in English, Korean, Russian, German, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, Persian, and Ukrainian!
For the first time in 29 years, the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon did not have a day of rain! It was a welcome reprieve and one that enabled far more crowds to be outside of the Capitol to hear the Word of God spoken!
Many of our Faith & Action ministry team members, including myself, took the podium on Day Four to read God’s Word. It was a blessing to read through the Bible knowing that the seed of the Gospel was being planted in all those who heard it proclaimed.
Our final day saw another record-breaking crowd at the closing ceremony of the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon. We were joined this year by House Chaplain Father Patrick Conroy, Liberty University’s Ensemble, Shine, the American Heritage Girls and Trail Life USA Troop to name a few.
Thank you for your help! We are appreciative of your prayers and your financial support of the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon and the ministry of Faith & Action.
