“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way” — 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Yesterday, the Supreme Court had a special visitor – The President of the United States. As the special investiture took placed at the High Court, Faith & Action greeted the Justices and President with our two-story banner that states, “We Pray for the President.”
We have unfurled this banner on our building for the past several presidential administrations. Because of our strategic placement right behind the Supreme Court of the United States – facing the private entrance of the Justices and President when visiting the Court – our banner has been seen by every President that enters the High Court building. It has also been seen by the Justices and everyone that works on Capitol Hill! You might say that the banner serves as the world’s largest Gospel tract — a witness of the importance of prayer to our President and to all who daily walk by our ministry center.
As the scripture in 1 Timothy states, we are to pray for all those who are in authority over us. Faith & Action takes that seriously. We pray for all of our congressional leaders, our President and Vice-President, our Supreme Court Justices, and all those in governing positions. It doesn’t matter if they are Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, or anything in between – we pray for ALL who are in authority.
Faith & Action sees prayer as our most important “action.” We have made prayer THE integral part of our ministry that everything else is built upon, and we ask you to join us in this never-ending need to PRAY for our nation; for our leaders, and for our government.
This summer, as in summer’s past, our staff will take several days in a quiet and solitary place to pray. We will not only lift up the many needs and concerns that face our nation and its leaders, but we will also lift up YOUR prayer needs as well! We invite you to submit your prayers on our prayer wall by clicking here.
Thank you for your support and prayers! Please continue to pray for House Majority Whip Scalise and the victims of the shooting at the ballpark in Virginia.
On Behalf of Your Faith & Action Ministry Team,
Mrs. Peggy Nienaber
