“At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison” (Colossians 4:3).
Washington, D.C. is busy preparing for the presidential inauguration. Construction of the platform and grandstands is taking place at the U.S. Capitol and in front of the White House. Roads are being blocked off, and traffic is being re-routed. Hotels are booking up, and vendors are loading up with products to sell to the thousands in attendance. Onlookers, supporters, and protestors are making their way into the nation’s capital to be a part of the important day.
Faith and Action is busy as well . . . but in a very different way. We see the presidential inauguration as an opportunity – an opportunity to put God at the forefront through prayer and sharing the Gospel!
And there is no doubt that the Lord has opened doors . . .
Faith and Action‘s ministry team conducted a prayer service held at the interior threshold of the door President-elect Donald Trump will pass through on his way out of the U.S. Capitol and onto the inaugural stage where he will swear the Oath of Office on January 20th. As we have done in the past with other presidential inaugurations, we prayed and anointed the doors and threshold asking for God’s guidance, righteousness, and will to be done in the new administration.
For the first time in Faith and Action’s history, we will be distributing (in conjunction with Allied Ministries) 51,000 books that are comprised of the Gospel of John and the Book of Romans, to those attending the inauguration at the U.S. Capitol on January 20th. Working in conjunction with Seedline International and Hope to the Hill, this new outreach will share the gospel with over 51,000 people on the day of the inauguration. #WordtotheHill
Because we value the power of prayer, Faith and Action will host a prayer breakfast at the ministry center on the day of the inauguration. Just as we have done for each new presidential administration, Faith and Action has invited pastors, lay leaders, and fellow ministries to come and pray with us for all those who will be working for the new administration as well as prayer for the 115th Congress. This is a time to put God in the forefront of the day’s activities and to seek the Lord’s guidance and wisdom for our nation’s leaders!
Lastly, on the morning of January 25th (9:00 a.m.), Faith and Action is inviting leaders and their staff as well as other ministries to join us for prayer by meeting us at the Ten Commandments sculpture in front of our ministry center. Our purpose is to join in unified prayer for our nation and our nation’s leaders on a monthly basis by Meeting Us at the Ten Commandments.
We are blessed that the Lord has opened the doors for Faith and Action to bring the Gospel to all those who work on Capitol Hill – and He has done so for the past 22 years!
