You are probably as distressed as I am over what is happening with so-called “Health Care Reform” legislation in the United States Senate. Today I was informed US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid may have stepped to an all-time low by bribing his fellow Democrat senators who object to his bill because of its tax-payer funded abortion, offering upwards of $500 million in trade for these senators’ votes. Should they fail to take the deal, Senator Reid is reported to have threatened to close an Air Force base in Nebraska to punish pro-life leader senator Ben Nelson, resulting in hundreds of families being put out of jobs.

This new and dispicable low has moved Faith & Action, with its affiliate, the National Clergy Council, to give out a first-ever “Congressional 30 Pieces of Silver Disgrace” to Senator Reid. We rarely do anything like this, preferring to give out our regular Ten Commandments Leadership Award for the opposite kind of behavior that promotes what is noble and good. Regrettably, we couldn’t justify giving Senator Reid and his cohorts anything approaching an award, so we settled for this “disgrace.”

The plaque bearing the recognition is unique and wil be hand-delivered to Senator Reid. Please watch my video explaining more about this unprecedented action and showing off this most unique plaque that includes a mounted genuine Roman Empire era coin exactly like one of the 30 pieces of silver given to Judas Iscariot to betray Jesus Christ. While Senator Reid’s actions hardly reach that level of betrayal, it is close enough to warrant the association with such infamy.
