Faith and Action Attends Fourteenth Annual Distinguished Christian Statesman Award Dinner
Faith and Action’s staff was present last night at the Fourteenth Annual Distinguished Christian Statesman Award Dinner held in Washington DC. Each year the Center for Christian Statesmanship recognizes one outstanding public leader as a Distinguished Christian Statesman. The Christian Statesmanship award is given to someone who first and foremost is a Christian~~one who is committed to Christ and the love of country. This annual award was presented to Congressman Randy Forbes of Virginia. Congressman Forbes, now serving his fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, focuses his efforts on protecting the security and sovereignty of our nation. The Congressman is the founder of the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation which is designed to call America back to prayer.
Upon receiving this year’s award, Congressman Forbes stated, “Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Everywhere I go they say leave him outside, let your friend stay outside and you come in. If we leave him outside then we forget who he is! I bring him with me everywhere I go.”
The Columbus Club was filled to capacity. Joining many members of Congress an
d Congressman Forbes’ family was Faith and Action’s Chief of Program, Peggy Nienaber, among many other groups in support of a national leader who deserved this award for striving to honor God and his willingness to stand up for his faith.
