Over just three recent days the ministry of Faith and Action was introduced to thousands of new friends through visits to churches and with individual pastors. Beginning with Rob Schenck’s speaking engagements at two significant churches in Leesburg, Virginia and Wayne, New Jersey, the introductions continued with Peggy Neinaber’s participation in a Philadelphia area missions conference and the attendance of two mega-church pastors at F&A’s annual spring event in Washington. Together the encounters represented a universe of nearly 20,000 people.

“These introductions are critically important,” said Rob Schenck, president and lead missionary of Faith and Action. “Effective ministry is built on strong relationships, here on Capitol Hill with those we seek to reach, and outside of Washington, with sympathetic churches and individuals. Everything we need to accomplish our mission, including prayer, volunteers and generous giving, comes from just two places, churches and individuals.”

Faith and Action currently stays in touch with just over 100,000 people by US Mail and E-mail, but more than 250,000 are needed.

“Only a small percentage of our friends will be active with us at any given time,” said Rob. “That’s why we need so many. Our kind of ministry is not the same as a church, where you have a much higher level of personal involvement.”

Faith and Action is using newer technologies to enhance communications with supporters and cut costs of doing so. Recent projects include developing a specialized website for mobile phone users and text message sign up for newsletters, alerts, prayer requests and praise reports. To get in on the new “inner circle” a mobile phone user only needs to text the word “FAITH” to 35350.
